01 / The Problem
Meridian's client reporting was a manual process: analysts pulled data from three sources, formatted it in spreadsheets, and emailed PDF reports every Monday. The process took 4 hours per client per week. With 40+ active clients, the reporting team was underwater — and clients were asking for real-time access.
02 / Our Approach
We ran user interviews with both internal analysts and external clients. The key insight: clients didn't want raw data — they wanted three specific views: portfolio overview, risk exposure, and performance vs. benchmark. We designed around those three views with progressive disclosure for detailed data.
03 / The Solution
We built a React dashboard with real-time data connections to Meridian's existing APIs. The interface featured three primary views with drill-down capability, automated PDF export for compliance requirements, and role-based access control. The component library was built in Storybook and designed for reuse across future Meridian products.
